Officers investigate rollover crash on HWY 74

A man was taken to the hospital after he rolled his car on Highway 74 near Bighorn Drive Tuesday afternoon.

According to the California Highway Patrol, the man was driving downhill and didn’t negotiate the turn properly. He over-corrected and hit the side of the mountain causing his car to overturn.

He was able to get out of the car on his own and was taken to the hospital via ambulance. Authorities said he only sustained minor injuries in the crash.

KESQ and CBS Local 2 arrived to the crash scene, which was closer to Vista Point. The victim’s car was overturned in the middle of one of the lanes, blocking traffic.

The car was removed from the highway Tuesday afternoon and traffic was moving again in both directions.
