Congressman Ruiz launches Veterans University here in the Valley

Congressman Raul Ruiz is going from fighting for gun legislation in Washington to helping Valley vets this weekend. Ruiz launches the Veterans University this weekend. The two day event aims at educating veterans and those who serve veterans on the many programs available to aid and better the lives of vets here in the Valley.

The event will be held on the Cal State San Bernardino, Palm Desert Campus on Saturday and Sunday.

“Veterans University is an opportunity for partners to provide a coordinated venue for educating, training and implementing solutions for veterans, service men and women, their families and veteran stakeholders in order to help improve the lives of our veterans,” says Congressman Ruiz.

The two day event will bring together local, state and national public and private partners committed to the cause. “There is widespread support for veterans in our community. But veterans are not always aware of the resources available, or may find the system tough to navigate, ” added Ruiz.
