Indio homicide victim identified by coroner’s office

The Indio Police Department is investigating a homicide after a man’s body was found early Friday morning following a report of shots fired in the 46600 block of Padua Circle. Officers said the gunshots were reported at 1:52 a.m.

The Riverside County Coroner’s Office identified the victim Monday night as 50-year-old Jorge Madrid of Indio.

When police arrived to the scene, they found Madrid deceased in the street. No suspects were found in the area and police continue to investigate as they follow up with several leads.

Nobody has been arrested yet and the investigation is ongoing. Anyone with information about the homicide is asked to call the Indio Police Department at 760-391-4057.
