Ballin’ for Desi basketball tournament July 30

Dozens of teams will hit the basketball court in memory of 6-year-old Desi Cechin.

In her honor, the first Ballin’ for Desi basketball tournament fundraiser will kick off this Saturday at Shadow Hills High School in Indio on July 30 at 8 a.m.

Desi loved watching her brother and sister play basketball. It cheered her up to root for them while she was undergoing cancer treatment.

The 3-on-3 basketball tournament is co-ed with four different age divisions for kids and adults. It will all be held indoors.

The event will have food, vendors and thousands of dollars in raffle prizes. Proceeds will benefit the Desi Strong Foundation.

Teams can sign up online or the morning of the event.
