Indio police searching for sexual assault suspect caught on a nearby surveillance camera

Police circulated photos Friday of a man suspected of committing a sexual assault in Indio. The assault victim, whose name was withheld, was spotted wandering on an Indio roadway in the early morning hours of Oct. 24 and flagged down a bystander, who contacted police, according to Sgt. Daniel Marshall. An investigation revealed that the suspect purchased items from a local convenience store around the time of the assault. Detectives were able to download still photos of the suspect from the store’s surveillance cameras, Marshall said.
