Group launches petition to ‘Dump Trump’ by flying banner around Coachella Valley

A new campaign launched by Ultraviolet is asking people to sign a petition to get the U.S.G.A. and L.P.G.A. to ‘Dump Trump’. An airplane was circling around the Coachella Valley on Tuesday, carrying a banner to deliver the group’s message.

Some viewers contacted KESQ and CBS Local 2 after seeing the plane in the sky Tuesday afternoon.

According to the group’s website, the campaign started because the LPGA is holding the U.S. Women’s Open at Donald Trump’s New Jersey golf resort.

The organization states on its website, ‘It’s straight up offensive. And even US senators agree — on October 26, three of them wrote to the head of the US Golf Association, who is in charge of venue decisions, urging them to refuse to affiliate the tournament with a racist serial sexual predator’.

The organization is now asking the public to sign a petition to get the LPGA and USGA to move the tournament.
