More than 550 people watch eclipse at Palm Springs Public Library
It was a packed house at the Palm Springs Public Library, where volunteers say they ran out of solar eclipse glasses intended for the 550+ eclipse viewers who arrived on Monday morning.
Some people arrived as early as 7 a.m. to guarantee themselves a pair. One woman even came from the Philippines to watch it here in Palm Springs with her family.
Many people used homemade viewers, out of shoe boxes or cereal boxes. Some fun common descriptions of the sight were Pac-Man, cheese wheels with a bite taken out of them, and of course, crescent moons at the maximum point.
