Indio man pleads not guilty for alleged robbery at La Quinta Costco
An Indio man who allegedly robbed the Costco in La Quinta and threatened an employee with a knife pleaded not guilty to charges of robbery and a knife use allegation.
Ralph Cervantes, 41, is accused of stealing merchandise at 12:40 p.m. Wednesday from the store.
Cervantes allegedly brandished a knife at a store employee before running away from the scene. He was eventually detained after hiding in a gated community on Desert Willow Street.
Cervantes was taken into custody on nearby Desert Willow Street.
He was booked into the Riverside County jail in Indio, with bail set at $30,000. Cervantes will return to court September 19 for a felony settlement conference.
