New cultural speaker series launched in Palm Springs

The Palm Springs Cultural Center and the Friends of the Palm Springs Library announced a new cultural speaker series that will have three well-known authors come to the city.

Those authors include LBGTQ activist Dan Savage, alternative medicine activist advocate Deepak Chopra and New York Times best-selling author Lisa Scottoline. Savage will be the first author to speak on November 14.

Organizers said the authors were chosen to reflect the demographics and interest of people in the City of Palm Springs, but everyone was welcome to attend. They hope the speaker series would be a way to have the public become immersed in the literary world.

“We’re having folks learn, come away with knowledge, come away with new relationships and new emotions about things,” Michael Green, executive director of the Palm Springs Cultural Center, said.

The proceeds from the speaker series will fund programs at the Palm Springs Cultural Center and Palm Springs Library. Tickets are available on Eventbrite here.
