The trip consisted of a mixture of 62 parents and students, who visited all three branches of government.

Palm Springs police Lt. Mike Kovaleff gave 8th grade Humanities teacher Nannette Davis, who organized the trip, some police department patches, and helped arranged the wreaths. The students chose to place wreaths at the memorial instead of at Arlington because they felt it was personal to them.

“This was a tragic event for our community,” said Davis. “We wanted to commemorate and honor these fallen officers from our valley.”
