Police investigating car flipped on side in Rancho Mirage

Police are were at the scene of a two-car crash that caused one car to rollover and land on its side in Rancho Mirage on Wednesday morning.

Authorities received a report of the collision involving a gray Ford Focus that rear ended a black Jeep Wrangler shortly after 10 a.m. at the intersection of Los Alamos Road and Ramon Road.

That Ford Focus ended up rolling onto its side.

The driver of the Focus, 27-year-old Julius Vanderman of Palm Springs, was arrested for influence of drugs.

He was taken to the hospital and released with minor injuries.

Driving under the influence of drugs charges will be filed.

The other driver was not injured.
