Local businesses and charities donate van to Desert Hot Springs VFW Post

The Desert Hot Springs VFW received a brand new set of wheels, all thanks to some generous local businesses and charities.

The veterans received a brand new 2017 Ford Transit Van from the Coachella Valley Ford Dealers, Bighorn Golf Club and the H.N. & Frances C. Berger Foundation.

Post Commander Jeff Horton received the keys and says the new van will make a huge difference to for valley veterans and their families.

“It’s going to allow us to actually move veterans back and forth to the C-block clinic in Palm Desert, as well as sometimes providing assistance going out to Loma Linda or helping our homeless veterans by getting them to a homeless shelter.”

Horton says it would not have been possible to get a vehicle without the group of donors.
