Palm Desert church hosts job fair

Palm Desert church partners with a national organizational to help locals find jobs.

More than 100 attendees visited Hope Lutheran church on Portola Dr., to meet with 15 local employers were ready to interview them.

The church partnered with “Flourish Now,” a national organization that helps people find jobs.

“We are seeing great connections between employers and people that need jobs, we hope there is going to be a high percentage of people that find jobs today,” said Rick Bailard, teacher/pastor at the church. “In a world that is upside down you need connections man to get through life and that’s what this is all about.”

Employment workshops were also held throughout the day during the job fair. Attendees learned how to pitch themselves to employers and how to maximize their job fair experience.
