Riverside County Sheriff’s deputy in critical condition after Las Vegas concert shooting

The Riverside County Sheriff’s Department confirm that a deputy is in critical condition after being shot during the Las Vegas concert shooting.

Riverside County Sheriff’s also said one correctional deputy was injured, but has been treated and released.

The department also confirmed that a number of personnel were present.

No word on how many RSO employees were at the scene.

Riverside County Sheriff Stan Sniff issued this statement:

We are saddened by the many lives lost as a result of this horrific shooting in Las Vegas. It is with a heavy heart we report that two of our own Department members were injured during this incident. The Department members were transported to a local area hospital where one was treated and released and the other remains in critical condition.

In response to this tragedy, our Department has sent representatives to the scene to assist those employees who are still on site and dealing with the aftermath of this tragic event.

Our thoughts and prayers go out to the families of those lost, injured, and all those negatively affected by this horrific attack on innocent people.

An off-duty San Bernardino firefighter was also hurt in the shooting, but that person’s condition is now known.
