Handyman previously alerted to CBS Local 2 arrested for fraud

An update to a CBS Local 2 Stands For You story we first brought you in August.

Watch: Handyman accused of taking money without completing kitchen renovation

A handyman accused of taking a woman’s money without completing a renovation job has been arrested for fraud.

74-year-old Carole Pateman of Palm Desert reached out to CBS Local 2’s Tom Tucker about her bad experience with the suspect, Nicholas Huff.

She said she had signed a contract and paid $47,000 for new cabinets and countertops to be installed in her kitchen.

Huff reportedly ignored Pateman’s attempts at communication until finally emailing her months later stating that he intended to stand by his word and complete the work.

Early Wednesday morning, deputies arrested Huff for fraud.

Huff faces felony charges and is expected to be arraigned in court on Friday.
