City of Beaumont seeking to fill councilmember vacancy

Beaumont is seeking to fill a councilmember vacancy, this after Mark Orozco was removed by the City Council on Tuesday following his guilty plea in September to a bribery and perjury case.

Orozco will be sentenced to three years probation on Oct. 24, and as part of his plea agreement he will pay a $10,000 fine.

All residents interested in applying are required to submit an online application and appear before the City Council.

Requirements: Applicants must be at least eighteen (18) years of age Be a resident or business owner in the city of Beaumont

The Beaumont City Council will conduct it’s first review of applicants on Tuesday, Oct. 17th at 6:00 p.m.

Full applications received by noon on Monday, Oct. 16th will be considered.
