Woman airlifted after vehicle collides with tree

A woman suffered major injuries following a car accident in Indio. Indio police said the victim was airlifted to the hospital.

The accident happened just before 6:30 p.m. this evening on the 44600 block of Oasis Street. Cal Fire Riverside County firefighters were on scene to extricate the victim from the vehicle. Officials said the woman was the only occupant in the car that crashed in a tree.
