Longtime actress and small business owner announces run for Congress

Kimberlin Brown Pelzer announced she’s running for the 36th Congressional District on CBS Local 2 This Morning on Tuesday.

“For the first time in the history of our great country, we are not leaving something better behind for the next generation,” said Brown Pelzer. “I’m willing to walk away from a very lucrative business and successful acting career because I want to make a difference. I’m not looking to be a career politician. I will get results and step aside when I’m no longer effective.”

The 36th Congressional District is currently represented by Dr. Raul Ruiz (D-CA).

“Since joining Congress four years ago, Rep. Ruiz hasn’t passed a single piece of meaningful legislation. I have a track record of successes, I follow through on my promises, and I’ll get results,” added Brown Pelzer. “I will work with members of both parties and the President to get results.”

Kimberlin entered the national political spotlight as a prime time featured speaker at the Republican National Convention in 2016.

Brown Pelzer is best known for her role in the soap operas “Young and the Restless” and “Bold and the Beautiful”.

Kimberlin and her husband Gary are homeowners in Palm Springs and active in charitable organizations and foundations.
