Cathedral City High School students donate to families in need
Students and staff from Cathedral City High School are delivering donations to needy Coachella Valley families Monday morning as part of the school’s annual Adopt-A-Family program.
For the past two weeks, the school’s 30 homeroom classes, clubs and campus offices have been collecting food and gift items from the community, which will be delivered to 25 local families.
Cathedral City High’s five feeder elementary schools helped organizers identify those families most in need through their Child Welfare Services resources.
Students, along with help from Home Depot in Rancho Mirage, will load the donations onto trucks and deliver the goods directly to the families.
The program has served more than 1,000 families since its inception in 1991, according to the Palm Springs Unified School District.
