Cal Fire contains fire at Palm Desert hotel
Cal Fire firefighters have responded to reports of a possible fire at a Palm Desert hotel.
Reports of a fire at the Embassy Suites in Palm Desert first came in just before 3:30 pm.
According to Cal Fire, firefighters first arrived on scene and saw nothing on the exterior. Firefighters were able to locate and contain a fire to a room and contents the fire was contained just after 3:45 pm. They are still investigating the scene. They will remain on scene for about an hour.
The hotel evacuated occupants shortly after the 911 call, a hotel employee said they are waiting for the all-clear from firefighters to let everyone back in.
Back in December, over 200 guests were evacuated from the hotel because of an electrical fire. No one was injured in that fire but the hotel was closed for two weeks.
