Firefighters respond to reports of brush fire in Cathedral City

Firefighters responded to reports of a brush fire near the intersection of Ramon Road and Canyon Vista Road in Cathedral City. They were able to quickly extinguish the flames before the blaze spread to any surrounding structures.

Smoke is visible from Interstate-10.

The fire was started in a transient camp. No injuries have been reported, no arrests have been made, and no structures were threatened. Firefighters are still on the scene. The fire was reported just before 11:30 a.m.
