Local restaurants participate in “Dining out for Life”

People from all over the country will be ‘Dining Out for Life’ Thursday.

The national event raises money annually to support Aids organizations. Here in the desert restaurants across the valley will be donating a portion of their sales to the Desert Aids Project.

The Purple Palm in Palm Springs is one of more than 70 local restaurants supporting the cause.

“Desert AIDS project helps so many local people we love to be involved with the Desert Aids Project, helping out wherever we can and we’re super excited to be one of many restaurants that are involved in this great event and helping one meal matter for so many,” said Allen Canarutto, general manager of the Purple Palm.

Last year, the DAP raised more than $230,000 during “Dining Out for Life.” Each restaurant will donate at least 33% of its sales to the fight against HIV/Aids.
