Woman in custody following reports of shots fired in Thermal

Police have surrounded a home near the intersection of Alvarado Ave. and Jackson Street in Thermal following reports of shots fired, according to Investigator Armando Munoz of the Riverside Sheriff’s Department. One woman was seen being taken into custody at around 5:15 p.m.

According to a neighbor, the shots were fired following a domestic dispute between a husband and wife living at the residence.

Law enforcement officers were attacked by a dog at the residence; police shot the dog following the attack, according to the neighbor.

Deputies are currently investigating, attempting to determine exactly what occurred. Law enforcement has attempted to make contact with inhabitants in the home, but are yet to receive a response.

Neighbors reported hearing seven to shots fired at approximately 3:45 p.m.
