Police investigate shooting near Panorama Park in Cathedral City

The Cathedral City Police Department was investigating a shooting near Panorama Park.

The shooting was reported at around 8:45 p.m. Thursday evening near Tachevah Drive and Bella Vista Road. Police found bullet shells in the area.

KESQ & CBS Local 2 crew confirmed police at the scene were questioning a person who was shot at.

“From reports, it appears there was an unoccupied, parked vehicle that was shot at on Bella Vista. Preliminary info is that an ex-boyfriend of a woman shot at the current boyfriend’s car,” said Lt. Paul Herrera of the Cathedral City Police Department to KESQ & CBS Local 2. “However, the actual owner of the car is unverified and the new boyfriend is not cooperating with police. No further info. “

The front window of the person’s car was shattered by a bullet.

No word on any injuries, paramedics were not at the scene. Police later cleared the scene.
