‘Head Hunters’ gang member arrested by Border Patrol
An admitted member of the ‘Head Hunters’ gang has been arrested by El Centro Sector Border Patrol.
Border Patrol agents arrested a man at approximately 2:09 a.m. near the Calexico port of entry for suspected illegal entry into the U.S. The agents, who are assigned to the Calexico station, determined that the man was a Mexican citizen illegally in the country and conducted record checks.
The record checks revealed the man to be 32-year-old Benedicto Anthony Cifuentes, who has an extensive prior criminal record which includes 2004 conviction for felony robbery by force or fear and a 2007 parole violation. In 2016 he was arrested and convicted for illegal re-entry.
Cifuentes admitted to being a member of the Head Hunters, or HH-13 gang and is being held pending prosecution.
