Riverside County Sheriff’s Department announce deployment of NC4 Street Smart

The Riverside County Sheriff’s Department is fighting crime with new software.

NC4 Street Smart will equip over approximately 1,400 patrol and investigators personnel with technology and resources needed to reduce crime. “Street Smart” will help the department provide safety and security to more than 2 million residents by providing a crime-fighting solution.

“It gives patrol officers and detectives real-time access to information so they can identify offenders and arrest them before they commit additional crimes,” said County Assistant Sheriff Kevin West.

This will allow deputies to stay informed on activities and collaborate using situation-based bulletins, continuously updated crime maps, incident recaps, and case management tools that optimize the sharing of crime-related information. The tools will help deputies pinpoint crimes, patterns, and identify offenders. Investigators will have direct access to report recaps and gain the ability to search across incidents prior to reports being completed or approved.

Cities already using street smart technology have reported increased safety for officers and citizens as well as decreases in crime.

It is scheduled to go live in January of 2019.
