South Sunrise Way open again following collision

Roads were closed in Palm Springs late Tuesday night following a traffic collision, but reopened early Wednesday morning.

The Palm Springs Police Department warned drivers to avoid the area of S Sunrise between Mesquite & E Palm Canyon as they investigated a crash.

The road was closed shortly after 10:00 p.m. and reopened at 2:30 a.m.

Police told KESQ News Channel 3 & CBS Local 2 one person was hospitalized in a traffic collision.

The City of Palm Springs confirmed that person was a pedestrian. The city also confirmed alcohol does not appear to be a factor at this time.

At this time, there are updates on the condition of the person hospitalized.
