Local woman spearheading fundraiser for fire victims after family loses home

Teresa Parkerson-Rogers of Palm Springs is helping host a local fundraiser for California fire victims after her mother, sister and brother lost their home in Paradise, CA.

Her family moved to Paradise two and a half years ago from Desert Hot Springs.

The fundraiser, for fire victims across California, will be held at Pirch Rancho Mirage on Sunday, Dec. 9 from 4-7 p.m. Tickets are $50 and all proceeds will benefit United Way of Northern California and for the animals, World Heart Foundation. Tickets can be purchased here. Melissa Neiderman, the ACS Desert Spirit advisory chair is also helping to organize the event. For more information or to donate a silent auction item, you can contact her here: psmelissan@gmail.com

Guests are encouraged to bring cash to participate in the silent auction and to bring a gift card (of any amount) to donate to the fire victims. Each $25 gift card donated will receive three raffle tickets. Suggested gift cards include Target, Walmart, grocery stores, ags cards, clothing stores and pet stores.

The fundraiser will also include food, beverages, and the talents of Rick Springfield keyboardist Tim Gross, actress-singer Bobbie Eakes, Keisha D, local performers Jerome Elliott, Carol Kamenis, Grady James, TRIO NV, and Dee London.

Rogers’ family who lost their home in the Camp Fire has a GoFundMe account to directly help them get back on their feet. You can donate to their family here.
