County gas prices drop 43 consecutive days

The average price of a gallon of self-serve regular gasoline in Riverside County dropped today for the 43rd consecutive day, decreasing 1.2 cents to $3.40, its lowest amount since March 20.

The average price has dropped 40.1 cents over the past 43 days, including 1.5 cents on Wednesday, according to figures from the AAA and Oil Price Information Service. It is 9 cents less than one week ago and 30.4 cents lower than one month ago, but 27.6 cents more than one year ago. The average price has risen 32.7 cents since the start of the year.

The streak of dropping prices is the longest since a 45-day streak from Jan. 12-Feb. 25, 2016, when that average also included figures from San Bernardino County.
