Actor Erich Bergen talks Madam Secretary, Palm Springs

Eye on the Desert’s Kelley Moody spoke on the phone with Madam Secretary star Erich Bergen on Thursday morning. Bergen plays Blake on the hit TV show that airs Sunday nights on CBS.

“What we’ve recently seen on the show is Blake, my character, got fired from his position as the assistant to the Secretary of State and rehired as a senior policy advisor to her, but that of course comes with some growing pains,” Bergen shared about what’s to come for his role on season five of the show.

Bergen is also a singer. He recently released two singles, “Running Through the Night” and “Better in the Dark.” The Broadway performer says music was actually his first love. He looks forward to bringing his talents to Southern California for a pre-New Years Eve celebration concert in Hollywood.

Bergen also shared with Kelley that he’s a big fan of the Palm Springs area. He has hopes to perform here in 2019.

“Until then, you’re going to have to get in your cars and come out to Hollywood for the night, and it’s a beautiful drive, and I’ll buy you a drink if you tell me you drove to Palm Springs,” Bergen said.

He said he expects you to hold him to that. Bergen said his favorite local spots are Pioneer Town and the pool at the Parker Palm Springs.
