Felon arrested after officers find several rifles and handguns, hundreds of rounds, drugs, and $35,000 in cash.
According to the Indio Police Department, Alfredo Barajas, 26, of Coachella was arrested during a joint search warrant raid this morning. Those raids were apart of several throughout Coachella, La Quinta and Bermuda Dunes that stemmed from an armed robbery investigation that occurred in Indio.
Officers found three short-barreled AR-15 rifles, seven handguns, hundreds of rounds of ammunition, high capacity magazines for the rifles and handguns, two 100 round drum magazine, 16 pounds of methamphetamine and heroin, packaging for narcotics sales, and $35,000 in cash.
Barajas was arrested and booked for possession of assault weapons, felon in possession of firearms, felon in possession of ammunition, possession of high capacity magazines, and possession of controlled substances for sales.
The operation was a joint detail with Indio Police Detectives and two IPD K9 teams along with Desert Regional SWAT, Riverside County Sheriff’s Gang Task Force, and the District Attorney’s Gang Impact Team
