Local fundraiser to help fire victims across state held at Pirch Rancho Mirage
The community came together Sunday night to help raise funds for those impacted by the fires across the state. The fundraiser was hosted at Pirch in Rancho Mirage.
It was a night of some of the desert’s finest music, food, drinks and entertainment and included a silent auction and raffle. Everything was donated by local businesses to help raise funds for those who lost everything in the recent fires.
“It is so amazing. I couldn’t have asked for a better turnout…I think it’s fabulous,” said Teresa Rogers, who helped organize the fundraiser after her mother, brother and sister lost their home in the Camp Fire. “I can’t even say enough about this community,” said Rogers.
Kathy Snyder’s brother also lost his home in the fire. She says the efforts of her community mean so much to her family: “So many people lost their homes…so many people lost their lives…this was so devastating for everybody. We’re in Southern California they’re in Northern California…this whole community came together to raise money for those victims…what an amazing event.”
Jim Murdock, the store director at Pirch, offered his venue to host the event free of charge. “You know we’re all part of the same family…we’re gonna keep doing this until those folks are back on their feet again,” said Murdock.
All proceeds from the night are benefiting United Way of Northern California and the World Heart Foundation.
