Man and woman arrested in connection to armed robbery in Banning

A man and a woman are in jail in banning, after they were arrested in connection to an armed robbery.

Police say 31-year-old Kristen Renee Schmitt of Fort Mojave, Arizona was armed with a gun, when holding up a business just before 5:00 Friday morning, in the 500 block of Beaumont Avenue.

After the hold up, police say Schmitt left the scene in a getaway car.

Police say that car was stopped Saturday night, in the area of First Street and Beaumont Avenue.

Police say they found evidence in the car, linking Schmitt to the hold up, including a handgun and methamphetamine.

Schimtt is charged with armed robbery and possession of narcotics.

The driver, 28-year-old David Lee Harrison of Whitewater was arrested for parole violation, along with charges related to the robbery.
