Cathedral City business complex burned
Firefighters battled a structure fire in Cathedral City that caused extensive to a business complex Wednesday night.
According to Cal Fire, the fire was reported at around 8:34 p.m. at a business complex on the 68800 block of Perez Road. It occurred at the Perez Place business complex, where firefighters say the entire building was unoccupied at the time of the fire.

12 fire engines from the Cathedral City and Palm Springs Fire Departments, as well as Cal Fire were on scene.
Cathedral City Battalion Chief Robert Allison, who was at the scene, said the fire was in the attic area. The battalion chief added that 5,000 square feet of the building was fully engulfed by the fire. 10,000 square feet had smoke damage.
Firefighters are still investigating the cause of the fire.
Perez Road was closed from Summit Drive to Date Palm Drive for a period of time but has reopened to traffic.
