County gas prices drop 50 days in a row
The average price of a gallon of self-serve regular gasoline in Riverside County dropped today for the 50th consecutive day, decreasing 1.3 cents to $3.306, its lowest amount since Jan. 28.
The average price has dropped 49.5 cents over the past 50 days, including 1.7 cents on Wednesday, according to figures from the AAA and Oil Price Information Service. It is 9.4 cents less than one week ago and 32.6 cents lower than one month ago, but 22.2 cents more than one year ago. The average price has risen 23.3 cents since the start of the year.
The streak of dropping prices is the longest since a 57-day run from Oct. 4-Nov. 29, 2014, when that average also included figures from San Bernardino County.
