Valley yoga studio inspires healthy living for 2019

If you’re like most setting New Year’s resolutions — healthy living is typically at the top of the list. With so many fitness fads, owner of Bikram Yoga Plus Denise Du Barry Hay says yoga is one trend that’s sure to last.

“This is where you come to lose weight, get flexible to be your healthiest.” Du Barry Hay said. “It’s a lifelong passion, it’s something I believe in. It’s the fountain of youth.”

The former actress and Wildest Greens restaurant owner got her start with yoga nearly 40 years ago. She’s seen the practice skyrocket in popularity and now spread more recently to the Coachella Valley.

Other trends to keep an eye out for in the new year include fitness foods and fashion trends like wearable workout technology, inclusive sizing of workout wear, functional fitness workouts, CBD oil infused into foods and drinks, Butter Coffee, elderberries and tumeric spices.

Du Barry Hay’s studio hopes to inspire both physical and mental strength and create a community of people and friends. The classes range from a mix of hot yoga to trapeze, disco inferno and YIN relaxation yoga.

One of her personal goals is to open a new studio in Palm Springs by February.
