A former San Bernardino County Sheriff’s deputy has been sentenced to two years in state prison for having sex with inmates at the Morongo jail.

A spokesperson for the San Bernardino County District Attorney’s Office confirmed Brian Derryberry pleaded guilty to multiple felony charges.

According to court documents, in 2016 and 2017 Brian Derryberry “committed an act of sexual penetration against the will” against multiple women “by means of force, violence, duress, menace and fear of immediate and unlawful bodily injury.”

Derryberry was hired by the San Bernardino County Sheriff’s Department in April 2014 and assigned to the Morongo Basin Station. He was let go in 2016.

Derryberry began his sentence on Feb 1, according to the DA’s office. He will also be required to register as a sex offender.
