Warburton Celebrity Golf Tournament kicks off with Songwriters Night

The Warburton Celebrity Golf Tournament has returned to the desert for its 9th year. The event brings in more than 75 stars, songwriters, and rock legends for a weekend of golf and one-of-a-kind music events, all to raise money for St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital.

The tournament is hosted by Patrick Warburton, known for his roles like Snicket in Netflix’s Lemony Snicket’s A Series of Unfortunate Events, Krunk in Emperor’s New Grove, Joe in Family Guy, Puddy on Seinfeld, and so many more.

The event kicked off this evening at the Pavilion at JW Marriott Desert Springs with Songwriters Night. Throughout the night renowned Nashville songwriters tell the stories behind their biggest hits before performing those hits.

Songwriters Night was hosted by HLN morning news anchor Robin Meade.

“Most of all its wonderful because it is a huge fundraiser for St. Jude. It is the least we can do for the children. Last year $2.5 million was raised just right here,” Meade told News Channel 3.

The Warburton is the top highest grossing golf tournament for St. Jude throughout the nation. In the previous 8 years, the Warburton has raised more than $8 million.
