Missing San Diego man found dead at Joshua Tree National Park

The body of a missing San Diego resident was found Joshua Tree National Park Friday morning.

According to the National Park Service U.S. Department of the Interior, rangers found the body of Marty Kenney, 43, at approximately 9:30 am this morning in the Pine City area of the park.

Kenney was last heard from around noon on Tuesday. Rangers said they were notified of his disappearance on Thursday when friends found his vehicle in the parking lot of the Pine City backcountry board.

Rangers later found Kenney’s campsite and personal items.

An investigation into the cause of death is being handled by the San Bernardino County Sheriff’s Department.
