Deputies search for stolen vehicle suspect

Riverside County Sheriff’s County deputies were searching for a suspect in Thousand Palms late Thursday night.

KESQ News Channel 3 received numerous calls from viewers reporting heavy police presence in the area of Monterey Avenue and Varner Road.

According to an RSO spokesperson, a deputy was behind a stolen vehicle shortly before 10:58 p.m. on Varner and Mountain View. The vehicle then crashed into a sidewalk near Monterey and Varner.

Five people ran from the vehicle. Four were detained. Deputies continued to search for the last occupant.

RSO confirmed no one suffered any injuries.
