Couple wanted in connection with 29 Palms attempted murder

Deputies are seeking a man and woman wanted in connection with a Twentynine Palms attempted murder over the weekend.

On Sunday at 12:05 p.m., San Bernardino County Sheriff’s deputies responded to a report of an assault at a residence on the 5400 block of Daisy Avenue in Twentynine Palms. After an investigation, it was determined that 25-year-old Cody Pangle had entered the residence, repeatedly stabbed Kameren 18-year-old Johnson with a knife in the left side of his chest. Johnson was reportedly at the residence visiting friends.

Pangle then fled the location with his girlfriend, 22-year-old Christa Thomas.

They fled the scene in a tan 1997 Toyota Corolla with a Montana license plate number of 399761B.

Deputies searched the surrounding area extensively for Pangle, but were unable to find him. Both Pangle and Thomas’ whereabouts are unknown.

Johnson was transported to Desert Regional Medical Center with serious injuries.

Pangle is a Joshua Tree resident and Thomas is a Twentynine Palms resident. Johnson is also a Twentynine Palms resident.
