March Coachella Valley Spotlight Recipient: Habitat for Humanity

March’s Coachella Valley Spotlight grant recipient is Habitat for Humanity of the Coachella Valley.

The organization aims to put God’s love into action by building homes, communities, and hope. Habitat for Humanity of the Coachella Valley provides services to anyone in need, regardless of religion, age, income, gender, ethnicity, national origin, disability, or sexual orientation.

In the last year, the nonprofit served 300 low income individuals. The $25,000 grant from the H.N. and Frances C. Berger Foundation will be used to support Habitat for Humanity of the Coachella Valley’s Housing Insecurity Prevention Program. The program builds low cost homes to those in need at no profit to qualifying families through affordable income-based mortgages. They also restore and repair damaged properties and provide donated household appliances to new homeowners.
