Authorities are investigating an officer-involved shooting that occurred early Tuesday morning in Desert Center.

According to the Riverside County Sheriff’s Department, deputies were called to assist the California Highway Patrol at around 2:40 a.m. in an area between milemarker 119 and 120.

CHP officers were originally called in to assist in the search for a wanted suspect from somewhere in Northern California. No details have been released on the shooting, RSO did confirm no officers were injured in the incident.

RSO also confirmed a suspect is in custody. No details on the suspect have been released at this time. RSO has assumed the investigation from CHP.
