Emergency crews searching for possible injured hiker near Tram

Emergency crews have set up a command center at the Palm Springs Aerial Tramway’s Valley Station to search for a possible injured hiker.

According to Cara Youngman, public relations manager for the Tramway, a radio call went out asking for help this morning around 9:30 a.m. The call was not very clear, but tram employees could hear the word ‘creek’.

The Riverside County Sheriff’s Department has set up the command center and officers from the Palm Springs Police Department are assisting. A helicopter will be assisting with the search.

Tram officials say that the possibly injured person is not a tram employee, as all employees are accounted for currently.
