Cyclist in last week’s Indian Wells crash pronounced dead

The Riverside County Sheriff’s Department has confirmed the cyclist in last Monday’s crash in Indian Wells was pronounced dead.

On March 25, just before 11 a.m., Paul Jackson was bicycling westbound in the area of Highway 111 and Province Way when he “collided with the rear of a stationary Dodge minivan,” RSO investigators determined.

Jackson was hospitalized in critical condition. RSO confirmed he was pronounced dead on Wednesday.

The driver, whose name was not released, remained on scene after the crash and was cooperative with deputies. Alcohol was not a factor in the collision, according to the sheriff’s department.

Anyone who witnessed the collision was asked to call Officer Conoway of the Traffic Team at (760) 836-1600.
