Hohmann and Navarro win big at Easter Bowl

It was a morning full of tennis at the Indian Wells Tennis Garden, only this time it was junior players instead of the pros. The Garden hosted the 52nd annual Adidas Easter Bowl. Ron Hohmann won the 18s singles title and Emma Navarro won for the 18s in the girls competition. Both champions receive wild card entries into future UTSA tournaments.

Hohmann secured the title with a three set 4-6, 6-2, 6-4 victory over Martin Damm , the 17-year-old won every match he played at the Indian Wells Tennis Garden to capture the USTA Gold ball in the Boys’ ITF 18-and-under division. Hohmann is committed to LSU.

For the girls’ 18s draw, 17-year-old Emma Navarro won a second USTA Gold ball as she won Saturday in taking out 14-year-old No. 14 seeded Robin Montgomery, 6-0, 7-6. Navarro is committed to Duke in the class of 2020.
