Coachella Valley couple now missing for three months

It has now been three months since a Coachella Valley couple disappeared. 26-year-old Audrey Moran and 28-year-old Jonathan “Darling” Reynoso were last seen on May 10.

Two groups of friends, facing the same fear, never finding Reynoso or Moran. Moran’s long time friend, Bertha Valenzuela said,

“Not ever knowing what happened to her”

Valenzuela, like many others, says she’s just hoping to get answers.

Arturo Alvarez and Luis Camacho are two of Reynoso’s closest friends. This is how Alvarez describes the journey he’s faced with, “It’s a nightmare. It’s like a movie, and I mean, movies end, and it’s like, okay it’s a movie played by actors, but this is real and it’s scary. It’s scary.”

Family and friends are asking for anyone with information to come forward. The couples tip line is (760)393-3544.

The local community has come together to help out with the search by raising awareness through fundraisers and creating cards in the effort to help locate them. The families of both Moran and Reynoso have received support from businesses and Reynoso’s family has handed out flyers across the region to spread the word.

Here’s a timeline of events based on information given by Indio Police, the original investigating agency on the missing couple’s case.

– Audrey was last seen at her sister’s house in Coachella on Wednesday, May 10 between 8 p.m. and 8:45 p.m. She stopped at her sister’s house while driving to meet Jonathan at an unknown location between Coachella and Imperial County. Based on interviews with friends, police believe Jonathan may have been traveling from Brawley for an unknown reason.
-Jonathan does not drive and was coming from Imperial County with friends. Those friends have not been identified or interviewed. Police believe that Jonathan and Audrey did meet at an unknown location sometime on Wednesday, May 10, 2017. Friends and family tried to contact both Audrey and Jonathan throughout the day and night on Thursday, May 11, 2017. Audrey’s family reported Audrey missing in the early morning hours of Friday, May 12, 2017. -Using On-Star, IPD officers located the vehicle (2010 GMC Terrain) around 8:00 a.m., on the westbound side of the I-10 west of the Oak Valley Parkway on May 11, 2017. The vehicle was recovered by IPD and the initial search of the vehicle showed no signs of foul play or forced entry. The vehicle was fueled and operated normally when started. -The “selfie” photo that was sent from Audrey’s phone was not taken on Wednesday, May 10, 2017, as originally thought. It was sent to a family member on Wednesday, May 10, 2017, but it is unknown when the actual photo was taken. Audrey’s cell phone records indicate her phone did not use any cell towers outside of the East Coachella Valley on Wednesday, May 11, 2017. Audrey’s phone is still off and there has been no activity since midnight Wednesday, May 10, 2017.

In June, the case was taken over by the Riverside County Sheriff’s Department who worked alongside Indio Police. Based upon jurisdictional considerations, and the benefits of funneling all new information through a single source, the Riverside Sheriff’s Department Central Homicide Unit assumed the investigation of both missing people. A $10,000 reward is being offered for information on their wherabouts. Anyone with information is encouraged to call the Riverside County Sheriff’s Department missing persons tip-line at (760)-393-3544. More: Today’s Top Stories
