Palm Springs releases app for city residents
The city of Palm Springs announced the launch of a new app, myPalmSprings, Thursday. It’s designed for residents and visitors to find city-related information and report issues to city hall.
“The City of Palm Springs is always looking for innovative ways to improve our service to residents and visitors,” City Manager David Ready said. “With that in mind, we are excited to launch the new My Palm Springs app for anyone looking for the latest news and information from City Hall.”
myPalmSprings allows users to report homeless and code compliance issues, vacation rental violations, graffiti, water waste and other problems, Palm Springs city spokesperson Amy Blaisdell said.
Residents can also access information about the City Council, board and commission meetings, city departments, parks and recreation programs, services at the city’s public library, special events, links to city social media and news releases, according to Blaisdell.
A “Report Issue” tab is also available, where you can report anything from animal issues to code compliance and traffic problems. Those reports will go directly to the department in question.
“It’s going to go to variety of people in departments that handles certain types of issues and then of course we have miscellaneous, and we have one person who’s going to be overseeing all of these, so ones that aren’t specific to individual departments we have someone monitoring who will get it to the right place,” Ready said.
The app can be downloaded from the Apple and Google Play stores.

“Everybody has an opinion, what they like, what they don’t like and this is one way of finding out what other people, how they feel about it,” said Peter Grabowski, who lives in Palm Springs.
“I think it’s a great idea cause a lot, a lot of people are using their phones. I can see how it’s benefiting. It’s bringing people together and making things much, much easier,” said another Palm Springs resident, Michael Picardi.
