Bicyclist identified in deadly Palm Springs collision

The Riverside County Coroner's Office identified a bicyclist, killed in a Tuesday collision, as William Camp, 62, of Palm Springs.

Camp was reportedly struck and killed by a driver in a big-rig semi truck along N. Gene Autry Trail between E. Vista Chino Drive and E. Via Escuela Drive.

Sgt. Mike Casavan confirmed the crash involved a pedestrian and a truck/trailer big rig at 4:05 p.m. Camp died within minutes of the collision.

The road reopened around 10:00 Tuesday night.
