A special “Frontline Friday” to honor essential workers on VE Day anniversary

The Palm Springs Air Museum's "Frontline Fridays" continue to honor essential workers on the front lines of the coronavirus pandemic. Three vintage warbird aircraft - C-47 Skytrain, P-51 Mustang, and the P-63 Kingcobra - flew over Rancho Mirage City Hall, Eisenhower Health, Palm Desert City Hall, Indian Wells City Hall, Bermuda Dunes Airport and Sun Line Transit Offices in Thousand Palms.

“You come out into the beautiful sunshine and see these amazing airplanes is just a real boost, a real morale booster for all of us,” said Ann Mostofi, Chief Nursing Officer at Eisenhower Health.

“I think everyone's always moved to see the warbird airplanes flying over and just to be recognized for what we do in the hospital every day is important. As busy as they are, everyone likes to take a short break, run out here quick in the heat and enjoy seeing that beautiful sight,” said Dr. Alan Williamson, Chief Medical Officer at Eisenhower Health.

Palm Springs Air Museum is also celebrating the 75th Anniversary of the end of World War II in Europe. A historic day that closely connects to Eisenhower Health.

“Certainly fitting for a hospital that's named after President Eisenhower, General Eisenhower the military history of this institution is really important to us as is the community spirit that we see so very inspiring to us, to continue to do what we do everyday to get that thank you is really all the fuel we need to get through our day,” Williamson said.

“We are especially proud that we have nurses that have given their lives for this country in every war and we continue to be there on the front lines during this pandemic. We want everyone to know that we tear especially about every person in the valley and we're here for you in war and in peace,” Mostofi said.

Frontline Fridays will be taking place all month long.
